I love waterfalls, I find them very relaxing… the sound of running water and the flow over the fall, beautiful! A few weeks ago there was a lot of rain in Melbourne, so I thought it would be a great time to go waterfall hunting! I went to Trentham Falls, and then Turpins Falls. Trentham falls are stunning, the longest single drop waterfall in Victoria. There is a viewing platform, but it doesn’t go to the bottom of the falls. Turpins falls is much harder to get to, it has a trail but is very run down. We didn’t make it to the bottom.
I hope you enjoy my relaxing waterfall photos, I know I enjoyed taking them 🙂
Recently on our trip to the North Island of New Zealand, I visited Bridal Veil Falls. It is a stunning waterfall. 55m single drop, the sheer force coming over the ledge was amazing! Well worth a visit if you are heading over to the North Island.
I was very lucky to catch a rainbow through the spray of the water!
Recently I visited Buckley Falls in Geelong. They are located very close to the Geelong city centre so I wasn’t expecting very much – but I was amazed at what we found! Buckley Falls is the low wide waterfalls, there is also Windmill Falls which is a single drop waterfall. I setup my tripod and away I went.
A few weeks ago I went to Lal Lal Falls near Ballarat. I have always loved Waterfalls and after all the rain we had been having in Victoria I hoped Lal Lal Falls would put on a good show!
I setup my tripod at the viewing platform and waited for the right lighting for a slow shutter. It took longer than expected so I explored the surrounding scenery and caught some photos there too! I was quite pleased with the result, what do you think?
Whilst we were away last weekend we stopped by Trentham Falls, the longest single drop waterfall in Victoria. All up it is 32 metres!
The water wasn’t flowing very fully, and the sun was very bright so it wasn’t ideal waterfall photography conditions. I still took the chance to try some long exposure photography to get the lovely moving water look as I had not done that before. I put my sunglasses over the lens to try and overcome the sunny time of day.
I hope to get back there later in winter when it will have more water flowing, but I am happy with the result. What do you think?
