Spring has sprung in Melbourne!

Hi all,

Well Spring has Sprung in Melbourne and the insects and flowers are out in force – so I joined them with my camera!!

Earlier this year we planted a lot of flowering plants in our garden to attract the insects, yes I had an ulterior photography motive! Yesterday morning the sun was shining, the flowers were out and the bees were pollinating! So I took the opportunity to get some photos.

Insects at Lambley Nursery

Hi all,

One of the benefits of beautiful flowering gardens like Lambley Nursery are the insects it attracts. I added some insect photos in my previous post from Lambley, but saved these for a separate post as they are my favourites!

Gardens at Lambley Nursery

Hi all,

Recently I visited Lambley Nursery in Ascot, just past Ballarat in Victoria. It takes approximately 2 hours from Melbourne by car. This is a gorgeous nursery specialising in drought tolerant plants. I must say, many of the plants are stunning! Even in Autumn, flowers everywhere! My favourite by far was the Salvia. We purchased quite a few plants too, mostly Salvia’s, so hopefully my garden will look this good sometime!

Insects at Royal Botanic Gardens

Hi all,

I visited the Melbourne Royal Botanic Gardens with a friend last Saturday afternoon. Whilst there I found some flowering plants that were attracting bees and other insects in the droves! I hit the jackpot!! Here are some of my favourite photos:
