Maroochy Bushland Botanic Garden

Hi all,

Maroochy Bushland Botanic Garden is different to most Botanic Gardens. It is more like a forest and has many different paths and areas of interest. I enjoyed wandering around this peaceful space. Near the carpark there is a sculpture garden with some interesting pieces.

I was also very happy to find some Kookaburras, and was able to get very close.

Kennett River – Birds and Koalas

Hi all,

The trip home was a good one for photography! We also stopped in at Kennett River, which is known for its Koalas and Birds. The birds are so used to humans, that they fly down and land on you! The koalas are in the trees but very close and easy to spot.

Camouflaged bird

Hi all,

Whilst at the Zoo last weekend, I also found a green camouflaged bird. He was very cute darting about quickly. As his colouring is green he camouflaged into the leaves very well making it difficult to spot him. I have been a little creative with my post processing to make him stand out a little bit more.

Birds in the Dandenongs

Hi all,

Recently I visited the Dandenongs. It was a rainy overcast day, so not the best for photography! I did spot some birds though. Due to the low light of the day I had to use ISO 800 so not ideal, but still it was great to see these lovely birds. My favourite photos of the day were of this Kookaburra and Crimson Rosella.
